Heritage Motorcycle Club Key Objectives

  • Dedicated to the preserving, restoring and riding veteran, vintage and post vintage motorcycles to 1965 inclusive.
  • Organising Heritage Motorcycle Club events to pursue restoration, riding and enjoyment of veteran, vintage and post vintage motorcycles.
  • Providing through the Club’s Committee services sought by the membership to further the objectives of the Club.

Not for Profit Body

(a) The income and property of the club shall be applied solely towards the promotion of the objects or purposes of the club. No part of that property or income shall be paid or otherwise distributed, directly or indirectly, to any member of the club, except in good faith in the promotion of those objects or purposes.

(b) A payment may be made to a member or non-member out of the funds of the club only if it is authorised under sub rule (c).

(c) A payment to a member or non-member out of the funds of the club is necessarily authorised by the Committee if it is:

(i) the payment in good faith to the member or non-member as reasonable remuneration for any services provided to the club, or for goods supplied to the club, in the ordinary course of business; or

(ii) the reimbursement of reasonable expenses properly incurred by the member or non-member on behalf of the club.

(d) Committee members do not receive payment for attending Committee Meetings, General Meetings or Special General Meetings.

Membership

(a) Open to any person who is currently riding veteran, vintage and post vintage motorcycles produced up to and including 1965, or has an interest in, and who agrees to abide by the rules of this club at all events and the requirements of the 404 concessional Licensing (refer advice note).

(b) An application for membership of the club must be in writing and must include a member’s nomination of the applicant for membership.

(c) The committee may reject an application and is not required to give the applicant its reasons for doing so.

(d) An applicant becomes a member when the committee accepts the application and the applicant pays the membership fee.

(e) Membership ceases when any of the following takes place:-

(i) the member dies;

(ii) the person resigns from the club:

(iii) the person is expelled from the club;

(iv) the person ceases to be a member because the membership fee has not been paid within the period of three months after the due date determined by the committee.

(f) The annual membership fee shall be determined from time to time by the committee.

(g) Under section 29 of the Act a member of the committee, trust or a member of the association is not liable in respect of the liabilities of the association at the time of incorporation.

Register of Members

(a) The Secretary, or another person authorised by the committee, is responsible for the requirements imposed on the club under Section 53 of the Associations Incorporation Act 2015 (“the Act”) to maintain the register of members and record in that register any change in the membership of the club.

(b) The register must include each member’s

(i) name;

(ii) residential address;

(iv) email address; or

(v) information, by means of which contact can be made with the member; and

(vi) the date on which each member became a member.

(c) The register of members must be kept at the Secretary’s place of residence, or at another place determined by the committee.
